about us / pinto

Pinto was adopted from the Humane Society in the summer of 2004. He is curious and cautious and clearly happy to have a home. He's named after the Spanish word for "spotted," which may be an understatement in this case. Since he's a Queensland Heeler (or Australian Cattle Dog, a breed derived from the dingo) he does well in the desert. Pinto takes over guard duty from Cielo, who died at the age of thirteen, in my arms. Cielo watches over both of us.

in honor of my friend Cielo, who was so patient while I built this site
