Jeff Grubic, AKA Mr. Tidypaws, emerges from the stage shadows and swings into big sax and keyboard sweeps that lend powerful grace to any band. Veteran of Hipster Daddy-O and The Hand Grenades as well as a raft of other Bay Area/Tucson bands and experiments, Tidypaws is most frequently featured with La Cerca these days. His ongoing Ad Nauseam project -- inspired by avant-garde composers -- always delivers a heady mix of established musical innovators producing strata of parts that careen and interlock. He's got a certain "when men were men" style -- he well knows who he is yet never swaggers; he's got natural style that puts posers to shame. Oh yeah, he's a barbeque expert too. How eligible can a guy get?
